Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
Welcome to our SEND information page. We hope that you will find this information useful. We aim to describe the support available for your child in order that they are able to reach their full potential.
The Federation is committed to a policy of including all children, where the teaching and learning achievements, attitudes and well-being of all, matter.
We believe that all children, regardless of ability and behaviour are valued equally. Children with SEND are not viewed as separate, but are part of the whole school approach, where different children’s needs are recognised and met through varied and flexible provision.
Our Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENDCo) is Mrs Campbell, supported by our Executive Headteacher, Mrs Brannen.
Our Governor with responsibility for SEND is Mrs Storey.
We actively encourage parents to support us with their child’s learning. The effectiveness of provision made for children and young people with SEND is monitored by all of the staff named above and each year a report is compiled for the full governing body.
If you have any queries regarding SEND, please arrange an appointment to see Mrs Campbell in the first instance; you can organise this through Mrs Fox, our Office Administrator.
The Local Authority, Northumberland County Council, has a Local Offer** which has two key purposes:
- To provide clear, comprehensive and accessible information about the support and opportunities that are available for young people with SEND
- To make provision more responsive to local need and aspirations by directly involving young people with SEND, parents and carers and service providers in its development and review
